- The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) official source for worldwide rules of the road, lights, sounds, and distress signals etc
- Laing Map – The only free, online map detailing all navigational aids likely to be encountered on the Bermuda Pilots License exams.
- “The Bermuda Boater” a book by Ralph Richardson. This is a must-read for all License classes. In particular it explains all the navigational content needed for the Class C (Offshore) License, such as chart reading, plotting, and position fixing. You can find it at the M&P boats & moorings office in Paget; the local marine and book stores usually carry it as well.
